Paris Junior College

Paris, United States

About the School

Based in Paris, Texas, Paris Junior College is home to the Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology and offers one of the few structured college-level horology programmes in the United States. Its Horology Technology curriculum is a four-semester programme focused on professional watch repair and restoration, with students able to earn certificates or an Associate of Applied Science degree. Training combines extensive hands-on workshop experience with the technical study of mechanical watches, automatic movements, calendars, chronographs, timing systems and related micromechanical skills. Students work with professional tools and equipment while developing the diagnostic, servicing and restoration techniques required for careers at the bench. The programme is designed to prepare graduates for employment as professional watchmakers, service technicians and timepiece restorers, with opportunities in after-sales service, independent workshops and the wider American watch industry. Paris Junior College remains one of the most established academic pathways into professional horology in the United States.
