CEJEF - École des Métiers Techniques

Porrentruy, Switzerland

About the School

Located in Porrentruy, in the Swiss Jura, CEJEF – École des Métiers Techniques is one of Switzerland’s established institutions for professional watchmaking education. Its full-time Horloger CFC programme extends over four years and leads to the federally recognised qualification of watchmaker specialising in servicing and repair. Students combine theoretical instruction with intensive workshop training, typically spending three to four days per week on practical work and one to two days on technical studies. The curriculum covers movement assembly, adjustment, diagnostics, servicing, restoration and the precision skills required to work on mechanical watches to professional standards. The school also offers a production watchmaking pathway, with both programmes sharing a common foundation during the first two years. Through this structured approach and its location within the historic Jura watchmaking region, CEJEF prepares graduates for careers in Swiss manufactures, after-sales service, restoration and independent watchmaking.
