Neuchâtel, Switzerland
Based in the canton of Neuchâtel, one of the historic centres of Swiss watchmaking, the CPNE – Centre de formation professionnelle neuchâtelois offers a comprehensive pathway into professional horology through federally recognised qualifications. Its watchmaking programmes include the Horloger CFC, preparing students to manufacture, service and repair a wide range of mechanical timepieces, as well as the Horloger de production CFC, focused on movement assembly, regulation, quality control and industrial production. Training combines technical theory with extensive practical workshop experience, covering diagnostics, component replacement, movement servicing and precision adjustment. The CPNE also provides modular watchmaking education for adults leading toward AFP and CFC qualifications, alongside advanced studies in microtechnology and horological design. Through this combination of vocational training, recognised Swiss certifications and close proximity to the Neuchâtel watch industry, the CPNE prepares graduates for careers in manufactures, after-sales service, restoration and professional watchmaking.
