Fabian Pellet is an independent Swiss watchmaker based on the outskirts of Tokyo, whose work draws on the traditions of nineteenth-century horology. Trained in Switzerland, he spent more than a decade at Breguet, working on minute repeaters, grand complications and historical restorations, before returning to the École technique de la vallée de Joux as a teacher. After settling in Japan in 2022, he established himself as an independent watchmaker in 2023, bringing together his extensive experience and personal vision of classical watchmaking. His first creation, L’Essentiel, takes inspiration from historical pocket watches, combining traditional construction techniques with a distinctive mechanical architecture that reveals the fundamental elements of the movement. Featuring a handmade Grand Feu enamel dial, carefully finished components and a movement conceived around simplicity and reliability, L’Essentiel reflects his commitment to both mechanical clarity and aesthetic restraint. Now presented in a Titanium Edition, the watch embodies an approach to independent watchmaking where historical knowledge, thoughtful engineering and meticulous craftsmanship serve a singular purpose: creating timepieces designed to endure beyond their maker.
