Grönefeld is an independent Dutch watchmaking maison led by brothers Bart and Tim Grönefeld, the third generation of a family whose horological roots date back to 1912 in Oldenzaal. After training in the Netherlands and Switzerland and gaining experience with highly complicated movements at Renaud et Papi, the brothers opened their own workshop in 1998 before presenting their first watch a decade later. Grönefeld is known for combining traditional hand finishing with technically sophisticated movements, including deadbeat seconds, constant force mechanisms, tourbillons and chronographs. Produced in very limited numbers, the brand’s watches reflect a distinctive balance between mechanical complexity, reliability and refined Dutch craftsmanship.
