Dan Royter is an independent American watch brand founded in 2017 by self-taught watchmaker Dan Royter, based in Brooklyn, New York. His journey into watchmaking began with the restoration and trading of vintage timepieces before gradually evolving into movement assembly, traditional hand-finishing and the development of his own creations. Named in tribute to his great-grandmother, Blyuma Royter, the brand reflects a deeply personal connection to family heritage and a determination to pursue watchmaking on his own terms. From his early chronographs to the more sophisticated Legacy Nova Edition, Dan Royter has progressively developed a distinctive approach combining original designs, refined mechanical architecture and meticulous craftsmanship. Working alongside specialised Swiss movement manufacturer UhrTeil, headed by renowned watchmaker Andreas Strehler, and independent artisans such as engraver Artur Akmaev, Royter brings together complementary expertise while personally overseeing movement finishing, assembly and adjustment in his Brooklyn atelier. Produced in very limited numbers, each creation reflects his commitment to traditional watchmaking techniques, exceptional hand-finishing and a close relationship with collectors, offering a personal interpretation of contemporary American independent watchmaking.
