Ondřej Berkus is an independent Czech watchmaker whose work combines traditional handcraft with highly unconventional mechanical and aesthetic ideas. Entirely self taught, he moved from precision engineering and knifemaking into watchmaking with the ambition of creating pieces that feel genuinely alive and deeply personal. Working almost entirely in his own workshop, he manufactures nearly every component himself and regularly experiments with demanding materials such as meteorite, Damascus steel, and tantalum. His watches are usually created as unique commissions, often developed in close dialogue with collectors, and stand out for their originality, technical ambition, and imaginative character. Through his work, Ondřej Berkus has built a distinctive place in independent watchmaking where craftsmanship, experimentation, and creative freedom come together.
