Hello, today I would like to talk about the brand Laurent Ferrier, which I had the opportunity to rediscover during the Geneva Watch Days 24H event in Zurich. Before presenting the Square Micro-Rotor Evergreen model, released in 2023, I would like to go back to the origins of this brand, which embodies simplicity, precision, and pure beauty.
Born in Geneva in 1946 and from a family with a horological tradition spanning three generations, Laurent Ferrier, the founder of this eponymous brand, has recorded no less than 37 years of career in the service of Haute Horlogerie. Passionate about watchmaking and auto racing, Laurent Ferrier shared his life between these two worlds before creating this brand in 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland. Interestingly, it was on a prestigious circuit – Le Mans – that he sealed a promise with his lifelong friend, François Servanin, to one day launch their own brand. A promise made in 1979 and honored just 30 years later, in 2009.

This innovation allows the balance to be impulsed twice per oscillation, requiring two escape wheels and a specially adapted lever.
